Windows has launched no less than 8 operating systems throughout the years, but the latter is quite troubled – this is why it is due to be updated in the near future. However, the Threshold plans of the Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT) giant are known to include a release of Windows 9 next year, most likely around April 2015, according to a Paul Thurrott Report. At the time being, Microsoft has not released too much information on Windows 9, although it is expected to do so at the Build Developer Conference in April this year.
Microsoft has allegedly sold tens of millions of licenses for Windows 8, even though the operating system has been widely criticized by users immediately after it was launched, and it is believed that Microsoft will embed a Start menu return in the Windows 9 OS.
